Turn off the grill and let it cool completely. Do not use this cleaner on a hot grill.
Inspect, then clean
Check that the head is secure and undamaged. Stop using it if the mesh is loose, worn or shedding.

Remove cleaning debris and inspect the grates carefully before adding food. No cleaning head is a substitute for this check.
